Hang on, the journey has just begun.
My remarkable story of turning professional started not too long after I relocated to Dubai in 2012.
After graduating from University of Stellenbosch in South Africa with a BComm Managerial Science degree (majoring in Project Management and IT Management), I relocated to Dubai, UAE, and started working as a project coordinator.
I spend too much of my first summer cooped up indoors longing for the healthy and active lifestyle I enjoyed back in South Africa. I took up the challenge of golf and made quick progress.
In October 2013 I started individual coaching sessions with Matthew Naylor at The Address Montgomerie Dubai and progressed to a single digit handicap in less than a year.
Realizing that work was interfering with my golf, I resigned and moved my “office” to the golf course. I became a member at Al Badia Golf Club where I won the Ladies Club Championship in 2016, setting the 36 hole course record, less than three years after setting foot on a golf course for the first time.
In April 2017, I turned Pro on a handicap of +1, 43 months after picking up a golf club for the first time.
I believed I could, and I did!
